The site is www.solarbeam.co.nz. It is designed from a marketing viewpoint, with a clean and simple design, and careful attention to the layout – particularly the vital area “above the fold” at the top of the screen.
At the top left is a large picture of the product – the driveway alarm system. Beside it, at the top right, is a simple form that people can fill in to request a brochure. This is the ‘most wanted response’ for this page. While some people might be ready to buy the alarm system directly off the site, most will want to request more information and possibly chat on the phone with a company representative.
So it makes sense to put this ‘most wanted response’ right at the top of the page.
The rest of the home page contains more detail about the solar powered driveway alarm system. Then there are more pages with greater detail about the two product options – and a shopping cart where people can purchase the product online with their credit card.
The next step is to optimise the site so it appears at the top of Google for “driveway alarm systems” “perimeter alarms systems” and related keywords. We will also be using Google Adwords to drive traffic. I’ll keep you posted of progress over the coming months.
